
CKA Office Administrator
Stable Part time Position in Elmira, NY
20 to 30 hrs (10 to 4, M-F with an hour lunch)
Pay $15 to $16/hour 12 Paid Holidays
Office Administrator needed for local House of Worship. Must be able to work independently to ensure timely preparation for all religious holidays and weekly and special activities. Strong planning, organization and significant communication skills are required to support the Worship Leader, the Board of Trustees, and the President. The position requires usage of software such as standard Microsoft Office applications, as well as online database programs. The Office Administrator greets and responds to congregation members and others who contact or visit the office, while also working with colleagues to ensure efficient facilities management and security. Set weekly schedule, with flexibility allowed for personal obligations.

Excellent interpersonal skills, with clear, articulate oral and written communication.

Ability to interact in a kind manner with congregants, staff, and the public.

Proficient organizational and office management skills must be able to work effectively in a busy and time-sensitive atmosphere.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, and cloud or data-based programs required, capable of working with Zoom sessions and webinars, support website content management systems, and cloud-based archival systems.

Ability to maintain strict confidentiality with financial and personal information.

Ability to maintain accurate records (e.g., personnel files, life cycle events, orders, service contracts);

Open to becoming familiar with Jewish holidays and customs.

Prior non-profit experience helpful.

Establish a professional and reliable office presence, greet visitors, and serve as a knowledgeable contact for organizational functions and programs.

Direct incoming communications (phone calls, emails, mail, deliveries) and originate outgoing communications in an accurate, clear, and timely manner.

Maintain accurate database management for 3 databases.

Support the Worship Leader in the office, ensure timely preparation for all religious holidays and weekly activities & life cycle events (weddings, funerals, etc.);

Work with insurance providers for the building, liability, worship leader's health and dental insurance plans.

Coordinate the work of outside contractors and service providers for events, facility repairs and maintenance - Order supplies as needed.

Track visitors and activity in and around the building.

Track, respond/forward, and acknowledge incoming correspondence, membership applications, and questions.

Maintain templates for routine correspondence relating to events, membership, and regular sanctuary functions.

Support the congregation's Board of Trustees and Sisterhood

Maintain and distribute, as appropriate membership lists, holiday greetings, etc.;

Meet regularly with Congregation leadership to plan future work.
